The Sauber F1 Team head into the Hungarian Grand Prix full of confidence after news that brand new ownersLongbow Finance S.A. are acquiring the team.

The news is a welcome boost for a team languishing in last place in the Constructors Championship without a point, the only team so far in 2016 to have failed to finish any race inside the top ten.

The Hungarian Grand Prix is back to back with the German Grand Prix which was absence from last year, and Sauber will be hoping for a good weekend, with the team set to test their new rear wing that will hopefully allow the Swiss team to score their first point.

Marcus Ericsson will want to repeat their performance from 12 months ago: “Looking back to last year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, my memories are not too bad. I was able to score one point by finishing the race in the top ten. We had a decent pace in the race, and I hope we can achieve a similar result this season”.

Both drivers have expressed their concern with the financial difficulties that have hindered the development of the car. With new ownership the team are looking forward and with new 2017 regulations investment is crucial.

Felipe Nasr is looking forward to testing the new rear wing and wants to build on the second half of the season:“Now I am looking forward to get a first taste of the Sauber C35-Ferrari with the new rear wing. At the German Grand Prix we will continue our work to get a better understanding of the car, and how we can build on it for the second half of the season.”
